Candida spp, is colonizador of the vagina in 15 to 20% of the women and esteem that 75% suffer an episode of vulvovaginal candidiasis during their life, and a 40% to 50% develop refractory recurrent vaginal infection to the treatment. Objective: to analyze the necessity to ask for culture for vaginal secretion fungi. Methods: A study was made in 203 women, vaginal secretion sample was collected to them for micológicos studies and I am applied a structured survey of the study variables. Results: The 27,2% of the samples were positive for Candida culture spp, from which had been negative 32,7% in the fresh examination in and the 41,8% in the tinción. was isolated Candida albicans (69,1%), C. tropicalis (9,1%), C. parapsilosis (7,3%).
