The contribution examines the concept of intercultural competence in its dimensions and implications, conceiving it as a strategical element in the formation, capable to influence the learnings' quality. It traces back to the birth of university education the components of an intercultural training that makes possible to recognize how the cultures' mix can be found, since its origins, in the history of mankind and its educational processes. The essay, in particular, focuses on those ontologically hybrid intercultural competences, not determined by a new ideology generated by globalization, appearing to be the strong link between interculturality and training.
