ABSTRACT The
Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder
(ADHD) persistent in adulthood was only recognized during the eighties. It can cause several impairments on social, occupational and personal performances, and it can also occur in comorbidity with other psychiatric disorders. Because of the prevalence and limitations caused by ADHD, the aim of this study is to review the literature about this disorder in adulthood. The researched literature indicates the existence of adult forms of ADHD and the need to determine a psychotherapeutic and or pharmacological treatment taking into account the complications and comorbid disorders that can occur.
