Aspects of the Phenomenological Theory of Elastic-Plastic Deformation
Several issues pertaining to the phenomenological description of rate-independent plasticity in crystalline solids are discussed.
These include energy dissipation, the specification of initial plastic deformation, material symmetry and the modeling of
scale-dependent response.
