A study of the paraconductivity is adopted to characterize material properties in evaporated YBa2Cu3O7−δ films and melt-textured RBa2Cu3O7−δ superconductors with R=Y, Gd or Sm element, having different values of Tc and critical current density or trapped magnetic field. The paraconductivity is analyzed in terms of theoretical expressions for Aslamazov–Larkin, Maki–Thompson and the third terms in which effects of short-wavelength fluctuation are taken into account. The consideration of the momentum cutoff in the fluctuation spectral provides good agreement between theory and experiment in each specimen over the whole temperature range investigated. This allows us to evaluate accurate values for fluctuation parameters, among which the fluctuation amplitude and phase-coherence time could be correlated to critical current density and trapped magnetic field. The results for the paraconductivity analysis are discussed in relevance to parameters for applications.
