ObjectiveMonocyte chemoattractant protein-1 (MCP-1) and its receptor chemokine (C–C motif) receptor 2 (CCR2) are implicated in promoting atherosclerosis. Many studies have searched the association between variants of the MCP-1 gene or CCR2 gene and risk of coronary artery disease (CAD), but the results are inconsistent.
