were 51120 11m (Fig. 3), and fiber length was 4 cm. The NA and V-parameter of the transverse-mode were calculated as 0.116 and 1.72, respectively. The
absorption coefficient
values of the drawn fiber were 0.817 cm·1 and 0.008 cm·1 at 804 nm and 1064 nm, respectively. The 804-nm SM-pigtailed
laser diode
pump beam was propageted to the SM-NdSF by collimate lens with NA of 0.55 and focas lens with NA of 0.12. Commercial dielectric filters were contacted both end-surfaces of the SM-NdSF to construct a laser cavity (Fig. 1). The reflectivity at 1060 nm of rear (Ml) and front (M2) mirrors were to be 99.5% and 95.0%, respectively. As a result of primitive laser oscillation experiment, the input-output characteristics of laser oscillation are shown in Fig. 2. The maximum cw output power was measured as 1.99 mW at 170 mW excitation. The threshold power was 24.2 mW, and the slope efficiency was calculated as 1.39%. The far-field pattern ofNdSF laser is shown in Fig. 3. The mode- field diameter as Gaussian beam pattern is observed to be 9 11m. To use above applications, high concentration of dopants, stability of the medium, and
single mode fiber
core structure for efficient operation, the industrial photonic devices with the further short
fiber laser
are realized.
