Phenol degradation by TiO2 photocatalytic technology
The use of TiO2 for photocatalytic degradation of phenol solution was investigated. The effects of operating parameters such as catalyst dosage, oxidant dosage, the initial phenol concentration, and pH of the solution on photodegradation process were examined. The efficiency of photocatalytic degradation is the highest as pH=6, photocatalyst TiO2 dosage 0.2 g·L -1 , 20 min UV irradiation, the efficiency of photocatalytic degradation can be 80%. Photodegradation followed the first-order kinetics. The relationship between photodegradation rate and phenol concentration can be described by the formula kaap=-0.0027C0+0.0844.
