This paper provides an investigation on the aplicability of the color classification using an artificial neural network in the robotic soccer domain. Using the well known network generalization propriety, the aplica- bility of the approach to the segmentation of colored images over the RGB color system is investigated, looking for a robust classification even under illumination variations and different color saturations. One typical domain characteristcs is the time constraint in the training phase.
