This paper is concerned with the dis- tance characteristics of electromagnetic
wave propagation
along inhomogeneous random rough surfaces such as combinations of desert, veg- etation ground,
sea surface
and others. The order and equivalent distance in such an envi- ronment are introduced to express field atten- uation along random rough surfaces in a sim- plified form. Triangular cells are also given in relation to the arrangement of base stations for a
sensor network
or a cellular phone system.
